Boa Vista ( Portuguese for Good View ) is the capital of the Brazilian state of Roraima.
The city with 284 313 inhabitants ( 2010) situated on the right bank of the Rio Branco in the south of the hill country of Guyana on the highway BR 174 BR 174 from Manaus to Ciudad Guayana in Venezuela is the only road connecting Brazil with its northern neighbors. The distance from the borders of Venezuela is about 220 kilometers.
