Bob Geddins

Robert L. "Bob" Geddins ( born February 6, 1913 in Highbank, Falls County, Texas, † February 16, 1991 in Oakland, California ) was an American blues, rhythm & blues and gospel musicians and producer from the Bay Area. He was born in High Bank, a small town 10 miles south of Marlin (Texas), was, like many other African-Americans during the Second World War to Oakland in California and worked there until his death in 1991.

From 1948 to Geddins has founded and operated a number of small, independent record label such as Art- Tone, Big Town, Cavatone, Down Town, Irma, Plaid, Rhythm and Veltone. In addition, he has sold for publication he produced recordings to larger record companies in Los Angeles as Swing Time, Aladdin, Modern, Specialty, Imperial and fantasy, in some cases even to the Chicago based label checker.

Many songs, which are often erroneously other authors attributed to come from his pen, or created in collaboration with other musicians, such as " Tin Pan Alley ," " Mercury Blues ," " My Time After A While " or " Haunted House ".
