Bob Zurke

Robert Zurke ( born January 17, 1912 in Detroit, † February 16, 1944 in Los Angeles ) was an American jazz pianist, composer and bandleader.

He wrote among other things, boogie-woogie arrangement and occupied with Bob Crosby by Joe Sullivan 1936-1939 the role of the pianist (his "first day job "). In 1939 he was chosen by the Down Beat readers to the best pianists of the year. With his Delta Rhythm Band, which existed from 1939 to 1941, he end of June 1940 with the Don Raye 's song " I Love You Much Too Much" succeeded his only Top 30 hit on the charts. In his band played, among others Sterling Bose; Band singer was Evelyn Poe.

With the own groups however, he had no success. That's why he joined in 1941 to only as a soloist. He died at the age of 32 years.
