The Stummelschwanzaale ( Cyematidae ) are a family of eel-like ( Anguilliformes ).
Features
The body of the Stummelschwanzaale is relatively short, only 13 to 16 cm long and flattened sides. They have fewer features than other reduced Pelikanaalartige. Dorsal and anal fin face each other symmetrically. A tail fin is present, the tip is blunt. The maxilla is present. The gill openings are very small and are far below. A lateral line is missing. The eyes are small and rudimentary.
