Boca del Río, Veracruz

Boca del Rio is a suburb south of the Mexican port city of Veracruz. The city in the state of Veracruz was named, which translates estuary means by their location on the left side of the Río Jamapa, in the Gulf of Mexico flows here (photo left).

At that point, the first settlement of the present city, which gradually continued to expand to the north and west was built. But the site of the original settlement is still considered the very heart of the city and here also is still the town hall of the municipality ( photo above right).

More attractive than its northern neighbor

In the municipality of Boca del Río stay most of the tourists who visit Veracruz. Finally, there are here with a great number of restaurants and the more modern hotels and beautiful beaches.

The city borders

Boca del Rio is mainly limited by water and the neighboring city of Veracruz. Its eastern border is the Gulf of Mexico, while the southern border by the Río Jamapa and the municipality of Medellín is highlighted.

The border to the north and west of town Veracruz is smooth. The northern border of Boca del Río is the Avenida de Las Américas ( photo below right); the western boundary is in the northern city area marked by the Prolongación Salvador Díaz Mirón and south thereof by the municipality of Alvarado.

The second Avenida de Las Américas

Incidentally, there is at the geographical center of Boca del Río yet another Avenida de Las Américas, which can easily lead to confusion. The local Avenida de Las Américas is much shorter than the same road, which forms the border with Veracruz. However, it is important insofar as it is connected to the mall Plaza Las Américas and runs between the major arterial roads Boulevard Manuel Ávila Camacho Boulevard Adolfo Ruíz Cortines, Paseo Ejército Mexicano and the Boulevard Miguel Aleman.
