Boğazkale is the center of a district in the province of Çorum in Central Anatolia in Turkey. The place is about 90 km from the city of Çorum, the population is 1,491 (2010).

The place was formerly called Bogazköy (Canyon Village ), but was later renamed Boğazkale ( canyon castle ). Its Hittite name is Hattuša or Hattusa. It was the capital of the Hittites, and is now a significant archeological site. The excavated and restored remains of Hattusa and the associated sanctuary Yazılıkaya are now available as an archaeological open-air museum and form the center of a historic national park. In the village there is a museum with finds from Hattusa.

As one of nine existing locations in Turkey Hattuša has been included in the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage.
