Bogislaw VI, Duke of Pomerania

Bogislaw VI. ( 1350, † March 7, 1393 ) was Duke of Pomerania - Wolgast. Together with his brother Wartislaw VI. he joined in 1365 jointly succeeded his father Bogislaw IV, but first under the guardianship of her uncle Bogislaw V. († 1374 ). Because of disputes took place on May 25, 1368 in Anklam to a three-year contract, the Bogislaw V. the area beyond the Swine state, while the brothers were on this side of the area.

In the time it räuberten repeatedly in the field of Albrecht of Mecklenburg, to Wartislav VI. and a part of his knighthood came on November 10, 1368 at Damgarten in captivity, from which he had to solve with 1300 marks.

Shortly before his death he founded in 1390 the settlement Ahrenshoop as a port on the loop and secured it with a castle. The settlement was destroyed already in 1395 of Rostock troops and filled the harbor.

After his death, the inheritance fell to his brother, because he had no male offspring.

Marriage and issue

Bogislaw VI. was married in first marriage with Jutta von Sachsen -Lauenburg, a subsidiary of Duke Erich II of Saxe - Lauenburg. Duchess Jutta died in 1388; The marriage remained childless.

His second wife married Bogislaw VI. In 1389 Agnes of Brunswick- Lüneburg, daughter of Duke Magnus II of Brunswick -Lüneburg. From the marriage of Prince Bogusław with Agnes Two daughters were born:

After Bogislaw death his widow married Agnes in 1396 Duke Albrecht III. of Mecklenburg -Schwerin.
