Bogovinje

Bogovinje ( Macedonian Боговиње; Albanian Bogovina / Bogovinë ) is a village and headquarters of the eponymous Opština in western Macedonia.

Geography

Bogovinje lies at an altitude of 550 m. i J. on the western edge of the plain Polog. It is located about halfway between the towns of Tetovo, Gostivar in the north and the south.

Population

According to the 2002 census, the municipality has 28,997 inhabitants Bogovinje, of which 27 614 ( 95.2 %), Albanians, 1,183 (4.1%) Turks, 37 (0.1%) Macedonians and 163 (0.6%) members of other ethnic groups.

Policy

Mayor of Opština since 2010 Hazbi Idrizi. The Council of Opština consists of 19 elected for a term of four years members.
