Bohutice

Bohutice ( German Bochtitz ) is a town in South Moravia, Czech Republic. It is located about 30 kilometers north of the Austrian border.

Geographical location

The village lies on the railway line Hevlín - Brno at kilometer 114.1. After Brno ( Brno) is 40 kilometers by railway. Bohutice situated on the state road II/396 of Branišovice by Moravian Krumlov.

History

The first mention of Bochtitz from 1253 mentions a parish church. The oldest population register dates from the year 1641, in 39 families are listed.

Attractions

The most important historical buildings in the village are the Bohuticer Castle and the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. In the castle there is an exhibition of wooden statues depicting the Stations of the Cross of Jesus Christ is. In the courtyard there are three castle cellar. Behind the village there is a place of pilgrimage, which is the Grotto of Lourdes. Southwest of the village center is surrounded by vineyards on the Michálek ( Steinhübl ) a statue of St. Michael. The Michálek is a nature reserve. In the vicinity of the village there are baroque statues of St. Michael, St. Florian, St. Wenceslas and St. Johann.

Events

Among the highlights of the social life in Bohutice counts the end of April, held wine tasting. Here are the local winemakers from their wines. In the summer the competition Bohuticer apricot ( Bohutická Merunka ) takes place, in which let the Slivovitz - burner hobby taste the results of their internal art. Folkloric dance performances twice a year. In May it is Pout ' and in September it is Hody.
