The Boise State University (BSU ) is a public university in Boise, Idaho. With 19,993 students ( 2010) it is the largest university in Idaho.

History

The college was founded in 1932 as Boise Junior College by the Episcopal Church. In 1934, broke the University of the church. In 1965, about 5,000 students were enrolled and 1969, the University was incorporated into the state university system. This was also a name change to Boise State College. 1974 received its current name, the University Boise State University. The current President of the University is Dr. Robert Kustra.

Students

Of the 18,599 students in 2005, 54% are female and 46 % male. 96 % of the students are American citizens. 4% of the students are foreigners, being 2.6% have a permanent residence permit. 91 % of the total student body come from Idaho, 2.1% from Oregon, 1.7% in California and 1.6% from Washington (State). There are students from all 50 U.S. states. Broken down by ethnicity were:

Sports

The sports team of Boise State University are the Broncos. With the beginning of the season 2011/2012 the University moved with almost all sports from the Western Athletic Conference to the Mountain West Conference. The teams of wrestlers are a member of the Pacific -12 Conference, the gymnasts are independent. With the rich and successful sports programs, the BSU is listed as a Division I school in the NCAA.
