Bolívar Department

The Departamento de Bolívar is a department in the north of Colombia.

In the area are extensive pastures and livestock is widespread. The industry is committed to the processing of agricultural products. There are also petrochemical industry. In mineral resources Bolívar, among others, gold, silver, coal and sea salt on the coast. The exploitation of the forest and oil production are also important.

Tourist center is the port city of Cartagena. Another city is the cultural heritage Mompox.
