Bombardier BiLevel Coach

Bombardier BiLevel Doppelstockwagen (English Bombardier BiLevel Coach) are designed for suburban railways in North America train compartments. The car can carry up to 360 passengers and are easily recognized by their shape with the smooth octagonal sides. They are built since 1976 and are now in the eighth generation.

This Bombardier BiLevel double-deck coaches should not be confused with the Bombardier multi-level bi-level cars ( also North America ) and the Bombardier bi-level cars (originally wagon Görlitz). All product names used in the English terms BiLevel Coach, Multi Level Coach and Double-deck Coach German as " double-deckers " translated.

History

The original model was made by Hawker Siddeley Canada (HSC ), a subsidiary of the British Hawker Siddeley Group, which in the 1970s on behalf of the public transport company of Toronto a replacement for their former one-story regional diesel trains designed and manufactured.
