Trinity Railway Express

The Trinity Railway Express ( TRE acronym ) is a regional train in public transportation in Dallas and Fort Worth, which is operated by the transport companies of the two cities jointly. The regional train was named after the Trinity River, which flows from Fort Worth to Dallas.

The track has its eastern end at Union Station west of downtown Dallas. It runs from there, starting at the American Airlines Center by by Irvin and Dallas / Fort Worth and Richland Hills Hurst over the T & P Station in downtown Fort Worth.

The Trinity Railway Express was inaugurated shortly after the opening of light rail in Dallas in 1996 and was at first only between Dallas and Irving. On 18 September 2000 the line was extended to Richland Hills, thus creating the first rail link between the airport and Dallas. On 13 November 2001 the line was extended to its current endpoint in Fort Worth.

The track is F59PHI with EMD locomotives hauled Bombardier BiLevel traveled bi-level cars. On the route between the airport and Dallas are additionally used Budd Rail Diesel Cars.
