Bonaventure (Montreal Metro)

Bonaventure is a metro station in Montreal. It is located in the Arrondissement Ville- Marie on the east side of the Place du Canada, a public square in the city center. Building

Designed by Victor Prus station was built in an open design to create as much space for the busy concourse, which was built as a bridge structure over the platform level. History

The opening of the station took place on 13 February 1967 ago, together with the short section of Square - Victoria. Bonaventure was during more than thirteen years, the western terminus of the orange line until it was extended after Place -Saint -Henri on April 28, 1980. The namesake of the station is the building complex Place Bonaventure also opened in 1967. This in turn got its name from the Gare Bonaventure, the former main railway station of the Grand Trunk Railway at Rue Bonaventure, which is now called Rue Saint -Jacques. All names go back to the St. Bonaventura. During the planning phase, the metro station was named Windsor.
