Boningen

Boningen is a municipality in the district of Olten in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland. The municipality is located in Solothurn Gaeu and has consistently on a rural structure with few farms. Not even the construction of the highway and gravel pit with the various gravel processing industries have not changed.

Geography

The village is situated at the southern foot of the Borns (719 m above sea level. M. ) on two grounds steps above the left bank of the Aare. Of the 280 hectares of the municipality is 22.1% settlement area, 40.6 % of agricultural land, 30.6 % forest and shrubs, as well as 6.8 % unproductive areas.

Population

On December 31, 2012 730 persons were residing in Boningen, of which 9.5 % are foreign nationals. The language with 95.75 % according to 2000 census most commonly spoken language is Swiss German, followed by Serbo-Croatian (1.75 %) and Italian ( 0.63 ). On 11 December 2008, the 700 residents could be registered.

History

First documented in 1225 first mentioned, the village belonged in the Middle Ages Fridaueramt. The name means to the families of Bonno. Various monasteries and convents at that time owned land in Boningen. The tithe of Boningen originally belonged to the Counts of Froburg, then the Earl of Nidau, later the Barons of Falkenstein and then came in 1454 at the parsonage, " Our Lady " in Olten. Until 1687 Boningen was pfarrgenössig after Hägendorf. After creating a church in Kappel Kappel and Boningen formed their own parish. Political system
