Bonnie Somerville

Bonnie Somerville ( born February 24, 1974 in Brooklyn, New York City ) is an American actress and singer who was best known for her roles as Mona in Friends Rachel Hoffman in The OC.

Life

Somerville was raised by her mother and her Irish- Catholic family in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Even as a small child, she sang and was interested in acting. Among other things, she played in all things she visited at the Poly Prep High School in Bay Ridge. Subsequently, she studied musical theater at Boston College. Finally, she moved to train to become an actress back to New York City to be at the local Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. During her time in New York ( circa 1991 ) Somerville sang in a rock band. In addition, she worked there as a waitress. A model scout discovered them at work and so Somerville modeled short time in New York and Europe. Upon her return, her will had to act only increase. At the age of 22, she eventually moved to Los Angeles. Even there, they quickly found a band, but also an agent. The first very small role played in 1996 in Somerville City Hall. Her first major role was in 1999 in Somerville series Shake, Rattle and Roll: An American Love Story, in which she also sang.

Private

Somerville was romantically involved for some time in 2004 with fellow actor Zach Braff. For the soundtrack of his film Garden State, she sang the song Winding Road.
