The airfield boron ( ICAO code: LYBO ) is located near the Serbian town of Bor at an altitude of 387 m above MSL. It was built in 1986 and used principally for recreational flying and parachuting. The airport was closed in 1998 and set the activities at the airport. On 15 March 2012, the airport was reopened and has since been used by the Flight Club Aero Club Bor.

Infrastructure and operations

The airfield has a long 1085 m, unlit asphalt runway with about a north-south orientation (15/ 33). West of this is the apron with parking areas, hangar and flight operations building.

Since he primarily of sports and recreational aviation serves, will take place on airfield boron currently held exclusively VFR traffic. It is of a circular ATZ ( G airspace when active) surrounded that spares the town of Bor in the north.

Development and Planning

Aero Club Bor is planning an aircraft workshop to put into operation, since there are only two workshops for General Aviation in Serbia. In addition, the city plans to modernize the airfield with an approach lighting system for night flights and renew an NDB for instrument approaches.
