Boraras

Schwanzfleckbärbling ( Boraras urophthalmoides )

Boraras is a genus of danios ( Rasborinae ). The name is an anagram of Rasbora. To this genus, the species of the genus were previously counted. The relationship is unclear. The small freshwater fish live in Asia, where they are from Borneo, Sumatra to Malaysia to Thailand and Cambodia spread, where they live in large flocks in pools, ponds or even in smaller ditches. The fish have no lateral line organ. The number of fin rays in the abdominal and pectoral fins is very low. The animals have a very small body size of about 1 to 2.5 cm, which is why they are very popular in the so-called Nanoaquaristik.
