Boris Kuznetsov (footballer, born 1928)

Boris Dmitrievich Kuznetsov (Russian Борис Дмитриевич Кузнецов; * July 14, 1928; † 3 December 1999 ) was a Russian- Soviet football player. The defender was part of the team of Dynamo Moscow, which dominated Soviet football in the second half of the 1950s. With the selection of the USSR, he was Olympic champion in 1956 and participated in the World Cup 1958.

Kuznetsov began his career as a football player in 1947 at the Moscow Army Club MWO, 1950, he moved to the larger army club in the capital, the ZDKA with which he was able to celebrate the double of league and cup in his only season in 1950. The following two years he played in Kaliningrad, before he returned to Moscow to his old club MWO. But his great talent as a defensive player, he was able to show only after he moved to Dynamo Moscow in 1953. Over the next eight years was Kuznetsov regular player of this team, the dominant as showed in the second half of the decade in the league and won four championships in six years. Kuznetsov was there one of the main performers and at this time was also the only player of Dynamo Moscow in the Soviet national team, for whom he played a total of 26 times.
