Boris Ord

Boris Ord ( born July 9, 1897 in Bristol as Bernhard Ord, † December 30, 1961 in Cambridge ) was a British organist and 1929-1957 Music Director of the Choir of King 's College (Cambridge). During the Second World War, he had to serve in the Royal Air Force. Meanwhile represented him Harold Darke. He was, as his successor, David Willcocks, formed at Clifton College.

His composition " Adam lay ybounden " is the only composition published by him. It was some time a part of the "Festival of Nine Lessons", which was held annually at King 's College. Today it is sometimes alternately with the versions of Peter Warlock and Philip Ledger listed. Ord was described by David Willcocks as an excellent choir leader, who taught him everything you need to know to conduct a choir.
