Boris Rösner

Boris Roesner ( born January 25, 1951 in Opava, † 31 May 2006, Kladno ) was a Czech actor.

Roesner, who came from a family of theater people, already played as a child on Prague theaters. He graduated in 1973 trained as an actor at the Prague DAMU (including with Václav Voska and Vlasta Fabianová ), then played from 1973 to 1979 at the Theatre FX Salda in Liberec, 1979-1987 at the Prague City Theatre, and since 1987 at the National Theater in Prague that he was also in charge since 2000. Roesner, who in 1989 was involved in the Velvet Revolution, was voice actor (including for Christopher Lee in The Lord of the Rings ) and teacher of drama at the DAMU. In addition, he has performed in film and television in numerous roles. Roesner died of cancer.

He has won several awards, including the Alfred Radok Award and the Thalia Award.
