Borne, Saxony-Anhalt

Borne is a municipality in the municipality Egelner trough in Salzlandkreis in Saxony- Anhalt in Germany.

The town is located 12 kilometers north of Staßfurt near the B 71

History

Borne was first mentioned in 946 in a document. The name had over the years, various spellings: Brunone ( 959 ), Brunon ( 973), Burne ( 1197 ) and since 1211 was the present notation Borne as the general designation. All variations mean " the fountain " - it is thus a natural source (the " Spring" ) meant it exists today.

Borne to include the location, near the town deserted Nalpke and the former is my finished in the 1930s neighboring Bisdorf.
