Ilberstedt

Ilberstedt is a municipality in Salzlandkreis in Saxony- Anhalt. It belongs to the municipality Saale- Wipper, which has its headquarters in the city Güsten. The Ilberstedter district Cölbigk is considered the legendary home of the Bogeyman.

Traffic

Ilberstedt has a station on the railway line (Dessau ) Köthen - Aschersleben and has hourly clock connections.

Through the village the main road leads 185 of Bernburg (Saale ) to Köthen (Anhalt). The Federal Highway 14, which runs from Halle ( Saale) Magdeburg, lies in the east of Ilberstedt.

Culture and sights

Building

Ilberstedt has a home office. Right on the main street, there is the so-called Six stones, remains of medieval stone crosses. At the southern edge of the village, on the banks of the Wipper is the end of the 19th century established Protestant St. Severin Church.

There is also the Castle Ilberstedt, built according hofseitiger inscription 1799-1801 by Johann Karl Andreas Freiherr von Braun Behrens. The two-storey, wide bearing Spätbarockbau is an architectural monument of special artistic and urban importance.
