The community association Saale- Wipper, in Salzlandkreis in Saxony -Anhalt was formed on 1 January 2010. Municipality as it largely replaced the existing to this day the same administrative community Saale- Wipper.

Geography
Geographical location
The municipality is located in the southern part of Magdeburg, east of the resin and south of the state capital Magdeburg.
Großalsleben and Plötzkau lie on the Saale, by Giersleben, Güsten and Ilberstedt flows Wipper.
Neighboring communities
Neighboring municipalities are (clockwise, starting in the north ): Staßfurt, Nienburg ( Saale), Bernburg (Saale ), rounders and Aschersleben.
History
In the course of municipal reform in Saxony-Anhalt, after which the old administrative Communities should be abolished in favor of united communities and unitary councils, the mayors of the municipalities Amesdorf, Großalsleben, Giersleben, Güsten, Ilberstedt and Plötzkau agreed in May 2009 on the establishment of the municipality Saale- Wipper January 1, 2010. Amesdorf to broke away from the administrative community Staßfurt and was incorporated into the city Güsten, Giersleben left the administrative community Hecklingen.

Policy
Mayor
With election on 29 November 2009 Steffen Globig was elected with 50.63 % of the vote for full-time mayor. The turnout was 39.20 %.

The municipal council of the municipality was also elected on November 29, 2009. It is composed as follows:
