Bornholm Art Museum

Bornholm Art Museum is a Danish Art Museum, which is located at the Helligdomsklipperne, 6 kilometers north of Gudhjem on Bornholm. The museum was founded in 1893 in Rønne as part of Bornholm Museum, became independent in 1971 and moved into new buildings in 1993.

The museum has a large collection of Bornholm art from the early 18th century to today, plus a large collection of crafts, ceramics and glass. The collection focuses on art that has a reference to Bornholm, and places a special focus on works of painters such as Oluf Høst Bornholm, Olaf Rude, Karl Isakson and Niels Lergård.

The 1993 inaugurated, 4000 m² large museum building was designed by the architectural firm Fogh og Følner ApS, which was responsible for the cultivation of the museum was dedicated in 2003 and later. The collection is owned by - and is maintained by - Museumsforening Bornholm ( Bornholm Museum Association ), but the buildings belong to the region of Bornholm municipality. The museum is sponsored by a number of companies; The main sponsor is the shipping company Færgen.
