Borough of Barrow-in-Furness

Barrow-in- Furness is an administrative district with the status of a borough in the county of Cumbria in England, including the Furness Peninsula. Administrative center is the city of Barrow-in- Furness, in which more than three-quarters of the population lives. Also for the district include Askam -in- Furness and Ireleth, Dalton-in- Furness and Roose.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the former County Borough Barrow-in- Furness and Dalton -in- Furness. The area was formerly part of the county of Lancashire.
