Boston Cannons

The Boston Cannons are a professional lacrosse team in Boston, Massachusetts. Since the 2001 season, they are members of Major League Lacrosse.

History

The Boston Cannons are one of the six teams that play in Major League Lacrosse. The founder and president of the association is Matt Dwyer. From 2001 to 2003 home of the Cannons was the Cawley Memorial Stadium in Lowell, Massachusetts. 2004 they moved to Nickerson Field at Boston University, on which they played until the end of the 2006 season. Since 2007, they play their home games at Harvard Stadium, which is two kilometers from Nickerson Field and two kilometers away from the club office.

The Cannons have qualified from 2001 to 2006 every year for the MLL playoffs. They also won in 2004 and 2005, the final in the American Division.

On 20 March 2007 they joined with the Washington Bayhawks a contract that specifies that an exchange between the players Conor Gill and Ryan Curtis of the Cannons and players Michael Powell and Ben DeFelice held by the Bayhawks.
