Boston River

Club Atlético River Boston, Boston shortly River (nicknamed Rojiverde ), is a football club from Montevideo in Uruguay. He plays since the 2007 /08 season in the second highest Uruguayan league, Segunda División Profesional de Uruguay.

History

The club was founded on 20 February 1939. The founding place was placed at the intersection of Juan Cruz Varela and Juan José Quesada midst of montevideanischen Barrios Bolívar. There lived at that time a busy at the UTE man named Pérez, who possessed from that employment out over the then rare privilege of lighting in front of his house, so that this place became the meeting place of the youth of the neighborhood. The idea for the foundation of the association came from Antonio López Suárez. The implementation took over for the predominantly consisting of young founding group, those of his time playing football at the local club was not allowed Juan Deri, who then also the first chairman of the new club was. The name of the newly created Association sat down beside composed of the elements Boston and River. The latter part of the name was chosen because the first president of the association was a big believer in the Argentines club River Plate. Boston, however, is due to sign a tailor shop of the same name, which was located near the sports ground of the association Rosarino Central in a tournament held there. 1954 joined the club of the ON and launched first in the League Extra B and already increased in the first year as a master in the extra A on. There followed in 1956 the championship in this league, so, in the following year in the Torneos de Intermedia, then called the Primera C, took. Here we remained until 1981. Due to various problems then a 18 year -ending withdrawal of the team from the competitions of ON but found instead. Finally, in 1999 followed a fresh start in the League Amateur Metropolitana, the former Primera C. Here was assured by 2006 with a 1-0 victory in the final against Club Atlético Alto Perú the championship. Since the 2007/ 08 season Boston River plays in the Segunda División. Here it debuted on 22 September 2007 with a 0-2 home defeat against Racing and closed the season as 15 of the table. The following season they finished then the twelfth place overall at the end and was in season 2009/10 tenth.

2010/2011 was followed by a fourth place overall, the authorized to participate in the Ascension Play-Offs. Although Boston River reached the final, however, it lost to the Cerro Largo FC in a penalty shootout after both finals ended on May 14 and 21, 2011 with a 2-2 draw. In the season 2011/2012 we finished 7th place in the table and again took part in the rise of play-offs, but failed in the quarter- finals at Miramar Misiones. In the 2012/13 season, Boston River moved a few games before the end of the season in mid-table.

The club is currently organized as the first and to date only in Uruguay Sociedad Anonima Deportiva as (SAD), a capital form of social organization similar to a corporation and structured.

Achievements

As a significant success so far in addition to the membership of the second Uruguayan League since the 2007 /08 season, only the championship of the league Metropolitana de Fútbol Amateur in 2006 and 1956 the championship in the Divisional Extra recorded.
