Boswell Williams

Boswell Williams is a former politician from Saint Lucia and Governor-General of Saint Lucia.

Biography

Williams was elected to parliament in 1974 from St. Lucia and represented in this until 1979, the interests of the constituency of Vieux Fort

On 19 June 1980 he became the successor of Sir Allen Montgomery Lewis Governor General of St. Lucia and was holding office as a representative of the British monarch Elizabeth II until his resignation on 13 December 1982. During his tenure, the most serious constitutional crisis of St fell. Lucia: After the draft budget by Prime Minister Allan Louisy was rejected initially withdrew some ministers before finally Louisy resigned his office on 4 May 1981. The successive governments of Winston Cenac and Michael Pilgrim were also short-lived.

Successor as Governor-General was again Sir Allen Montgomery Lewis.
