Botanische Staatssammlung München

The Botanical State Collection in Munich, is a research facility of the National Natural History Collections in Bavaria for the study of plants and fungi. It is located in the administration building of the Botanical Garden, Nymphenburg.

It was founded in 1813 on behalf of the Bavarian King Maximilian I Joseph, who acquired a collection of Johann Christian von Schreber this. With nearly 3 million collectors' items, which include the whole world and all plant and fungal groups, it is one of the most important and largest botanical collections in the world.
