Bouhalouane train crash
In the railway accident Bouhalouane on January 27, 1982 ran away from the car of a passenger train at a busy maneuvering on a downhill and collided with a freight train. 131 deaths were the result.
Starting position
The train was from Oran to Algiers in Algeria on the road and consisted of a diesel locomotive and eight cars. The track has behind the station of Bouhalouane in the province of Chlef on a slope to a pass. The train arrived in this slope at about 1:30 clock to a halt, as the locomotive was found to be not strong enough.
Circumstances of the accident
The staff of the locomotive pimped this off to get help. In the abandoned car but the brakes failed, so they rolled downhill backwards. In the station of Bouhalouane she collided with a freight train waiting there.

The cars were smashed there and pushed into each other. 131 people died and 200 passengers and railway employees were also injured.
