Bouncing Babies (video game)

Bouncing Babies is a classic DOS computer game ( freeware ), which was developed in 1984 by Dave Baskin. This skill game based on the LCD game Fire (1980 ) for the first portable Nintendo Console Game & Watch.

Game Description

The player has to save babies jumping from a burning high-rise ( at the left edge of the screen ).

It controls together two firefighters with a jumping mat and the babies must be securely transported in the right-wing ambulance by bouncing them off the trampoline ( engl. to bounce ). To control are three keys for the three positions left, center and right. Later in the game speed is faster, and it simultaneously multiple babies fall from the skyscraper.

Graphic

The original graphic LCD game was black and white. The DOS game ran on CGA graphics (3 colors) with black background. The Amiga version has a similar color palette. The Acorn version has black characters on green background.

The program size is in the DOS version only 22 KB. It is needed at least a 8088 - processor. The sound output through the PC speaker. Today's computers require additional programs or a modified version, as the game is running too fast otherwise.
