The Bounty is a 1978 film The Bounty incurred replica of the famous Bounty mutiny by their 18th century. The ship is called to distinguish it from the original and the replica from 1960 occasionally as Bounty III; However, the numbers are not part of the ship's name.

History

The ship was built in 1978 for the 1983 film The Bounty with Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins; Shipyard was the Oceania Marine in Whangarei, New Zealand. Later the ship was used in various TV productions, including the mini-series Wind and Stars ( 1986), where it represented the Endeavour, Moby Dick ( 1998) and The Incredible Journey of Mary Bryant ( 2005).

The ship was located in Darling Harbour ( Sydney ). In 2007 it was sold to the company Hong Kong Resort International Ltd. and has since been stationed in Hong Kong.

Technology

The Bounty is a three-masted full-rigged ship with up to 19 sails with a total area of about 900 m²; the main mast is 33 m high.
