Brahma beer

Brahma is a beer that is manufactured by the same Brazilian company. For the first time it was brewed in 1888 by the company Manufatura de cerveja Brahma Villiger & Companhia the Swiss immigrant Joseph Villiger. This later merged with AmBev to Antarctica, from which, after a further merger with Interbrew in 2004, the new company InBev emerged.

About the origin of the name of the beer, there are different versions. The beer museum in the Brazilian city of Blumenau, we read that the name goes back to the founder of modern Brahma Brewery Georg Maschke. Brahma is then an abbreviation of the word " Brauhaus Maschke ".

The beer was known among other things through its innovative marketing, advertising to film festivals such as the one in Cannes won many awards.

Variants

Brahma is available in the following variants:

  • Brahma: a lager beer with an alcohol content of 4.8 %, which is marketed worldwide since 2004.
  • Brahva: corresponding to the above Brahma, but is sold under this name only in Central American countries such as Guatemala.
  • Brahma Chopp: a lager is 5 % alcohol, sold in Brazil.
  • Brahma extra

  • Brahma malt beer
  • Brahma Ice: is sold only in Venezuela.
  • Brahma Black

In Argentina, the distribution of Cerveceria Quilmes SAICA y G. y Malteria was adopted because InBev has participated in this brewery.
