Brain Powerd

Brain Powerd (Japaneseブレン パワード) is an anime television series directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Sunrise Studios in 1998. The series was conceived by the Japanese illustrator Yukiru Sugisaki as manga.

The work is set in a post - apocalyptic world from conflict between greed and sense of responsibility. The series can be classified in the genre Mecha, Science - Fiction and Drama.

Content

In the distant future, large parts of the earth are destroyed by earthquakes and tidal waves and still romp natural disasters. Due to the earthquake a structure to the surface, the Orphan (オルファン) is called. This is an alien spaceship, which will leave the earth with all their organic energy. This would mean the end for life on Earth. Still living in the vicinity of the Orphans people called Reclaimer who want to benefit from the ship. For this they collect records of its surface, and use them to build mechas, called Brain Powerds. There are also people who are committed to the use of parts of the alien machine, as they fear the dangers. One of these groups is Novice Noah. Also this control mecha, called Antibody.

Yū Isami (伊佐 未 勇) grew up in the Reclaimern and is part of them. When he the girl Hime Utsumiya (宇 都 宫 比 玛) hits a day, that the Novice Noah heard, it comes to a fight. From this Yū is influenced so that he's thinking about whether doing the Reclaimer is correct. Years later, when he meets Hime again, he then turns away from the Reclaimern and joins Novice Noah. From then on, both fight together for the fate of mankind.

Anime

In 1998, the Sunrise studio produced and directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino, the anime television series with 26 episodes. The idea comes from Yoshiyuki Tomino and Hajime Yatate. The character design was designed by Mutsumi Inomata and the artistic direction took Masaru Sato. The series was broadcast on April 8, 1998 to November 11, 1998 to the Japanese stations Bandai Channel and WOWOW. Later, a broadcast on Animax followed.

The station Animax beamed the series in South and Southeast Asia in English. The anime was released in the United States. In addition, the series has been translated into French, Spanish and Italian.

Manga

1998, drawn by Yukiru Sugisaki manga in the magazine Shonen Ace the publisher Kadokawa Shoten published. The series was later collected in four anthologies ( tankōbon ).
