Brand New Heavies

The Brand New Heavies ( SAB) is a British Acid-Jazz-/Funk-Band. The band had since 1992 a number of internationally known hits like Dream on Dreamer, Never Stop or Midnight at the Oasis, and is an important representative of the genre radio.

Biography

January Kincaid and Simon Bartholomew have been friends since the age of five years, Andrew Levy as they learned to know 12 -year-olds. The three school friends founded in 1985 in London, the Brand New Heavies and eventually make their shared love of funk, soul and disco of the 60s and 70s to their hobby. At first she acted as purely instrumental combo, their first serious gigs they played at illegal parties in the Mittachziger. However, they did in the synthpop -infested London of the 1980s quickly made a name and are considered pioneers of acid jazz.

1992, at the beginning of the Acid Jazz hype, the band released the outstanding album Heavy Rhyme Experience, Vol 1 1994 managed the Brand New Heavies international breakthrough with the Singles Midnight at the Oasis and Dream on Dreamer.

In April 2006, the Brand New Heavies collaborated again with N'Dea Davenport and its original label Delicious Vinyl. Your at that time the album Get Used To It was published on 27 June 2006. The album was recorded in New York and London. The single Jump'N'Move was part of the soundtrack of the computer - animated film Happy Feet and Live 2005 used for the soundtrack in the video game NBA.

On May 31, 2013 were the new album Forward! published. At the microphone is N'Dea Davenport and British newcomer Dawn Joseph alternate. As noted on older albums also comes the drummer January Kincaid as a singer used. The album was released on CD, download and limited edition including a live performance from the Indigo ₂ London 2008.
