Brantly 305

The Brantly 305 is a helicopter of the U.S. company Brantly Helicopter Corporation.

History

The Brantly 305 was designed as a five-seat multi-purpose helicopter in the early 1960s by Newby O. Brantly. The first flight took place in January 1964, approved by the FAA on 29 July 1965 the first machine of this production series had the serial number 1000th The Brantly 305 is a stretched version of the Brantly B-2. The original price was given in 1964 with 47 740 U.S. dollars.

Construction

The three-bladed all-metal main rotor is equipped with a compensating valve system. A two-bladed tail rotor for torque compensation is 1:1 driven by the engine. The machine has a rearwardly tapered all metal body with a force-absorbing outer skin. It is powered by a six-cylinder piston engine manufacturer Lycoming IVO - Series 540. In the interior, a rear 3-seater bench and a 2-seater bench front are available. The helicopter was available as a landing device with landing skids, not retractable tricycle landing gear or floats.
