Breakcore

Breakcore is a style of electronic music.

History

The style breakcore was developed in Germany in 1992 on the label Force Inc. Music Works by producers like Biochip C., Alec Empire, Space Cube and DJ bleed. The sub label Riot Beats specialized in the then new sound that was harder than its British predecessor ' breakbeat '. The German producers blended their influences mainly from the hard Detroit techno with a very fast breakbeats that lay around the 160-180 BPM. Noticeable also was the political left attitude of musicians and DJs who created this style as a countermovement to the commercial trance and techno. The musicians drove the cutting and alienation of loops and sound snippets of old records to an unprecedented peak. Journalists described this style often called " destruction of all previous music genres ." Decisive moments in the development of the genre created the bass terror sound system from Berlin, the environment with DJ Moonraker & MC Carl Crack the Cologne scene to the Cosmic Orgasm parties and in Frankfurt to the production team of Planet Core Productions ( PCP). A few years later came the British scene. Meanwhile defined Breakcore mainly through the eclectic mixing and connecting various other musical styles such as Drum and Bass, Techno, IDM, Industrial, Hardcore techno, ragga ( then in turn called Ragga Core) and hip- hop. Frequently they abnormally broken beats are heard in otherwise unusual time signatures such as a 7/8-Takt. Tend Breakcore is hard, with nods to the hardcore techno or rhythm 'n' noise environment. Many a time stands as a breakaway from the "usual" cycle patterns in the foreground, which gives the music a destructive character, which thus has similar interests, such as erupting from the usual velocity field Speedcore.

But Breakcore, due to the variety of musical styles, from which it is composed, sound very different. Thus tracks in the genre such as also "happy" (see Happy Hardcore), Trance moderately or even ambient sound heavy. Published in 2006 30-minute video documentary Notes on Breakcore ( Bertram Königshofer and David Kleinl ) gives some recordings of breakcore events as well as statements of producers and DJs to music style.

Frequently earlier were both - to take on the same events, however, both sides developed into a new self into it - breakcore and speedcore. Among the best known European breakcore events include the resident in Ghent, Belgium series Breakcore Gives Me Wood.

Today we hang Breakcore, precisely because of its vielfaltigen content, at events, in which several styles of music to be played during the evening.
