Breckland District
Breckland is a District in the county of Norfolk in England. The name is derived from the Breckland countryside, an overgrown by shrubs sandy heath in the south Norfolk and north Suffolk. Council is based in East Dereham; significant sights are Attleborough, Swaffham, Thetford and Watton.
The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Borough Thetford, the Urban Districts East Dereham and Swaffham and the Rural Districts Wayland, Mitford and Launditch and Swaffham.
