Bremen state election, 2007

The 17th session of the Bremen citizens ran from 2007 and 2011. Study was initiated by the election of 13 May 2007. Coinciding found the elections to the district councils, which include voters were registered from 16 years for the first time.

According to § 5 Bremisches Election Law is the citizenship (Landtag ) of 83 members, including 68 from the elective area of Bremen and Bremerhaven 15 from the electives. Deputies from the electives Bremen are usually also members of the city citizenship, which also has 68 members. Because the right to vote for citizens of the European Union in local elections the city citizenship and stadtbremische proportion of the Diet may be differently occupied. In the 17th legislative period therefore has the Alliance 90/The Greens at the expense of the CDU in the town of citizenship one more seat. The turnout amounted to 58.59 % ( state election 2003: 61.3 %).
