The Bressay Lighthouse, German Bressay Lighthouse, is a lighthouse on the Scottish island of Bressay Shetland. 1977, the lighthouse was listed in the Scottish lists of monuments in the category B. The operation of the Bressay lighthouse - was set in 2012.

The lighthouse is located at a height of 32 m above sea level, resulting in a range of 23 nautical miles ( about 42 km). The identifier of the tower were two white flashes every 20 seconds.

History

In November 1854, the construction of a lighthouse in the southwest of the island of Bressay at the southern entrance of the Bressay - Sund, the Bressay was separated from the main island of Mainland, requested. Being engineers, the famous lighthouse architect Thomas and David Stevenson were responsible for planning.
