Březnice (Tábor District)

Březnice ( German Breznitz, 1939-1945 Bschesnitz ), is a village in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers south-east of Bechyně in South Bohemia and belongs to Okres Tábor.

Geography

Březnice is in the valley of the brook Blatecký creek in the north of Lischauer threshold. To the north extends the military airfield Bechyně.

Neighboring towns are Bežerovice and Sádky in the north, Jamník, Německý Dvůr Blatec, Čečkov and Nová Ves in the northeast, Hodětín in the east, Hvožďanek, Markovna, Zálší, Hartmanice, Korákovská Hájovna and Korákov the southeast, Záhoří Havlice and Čenkov u Bechyně in the south, Maly Čenkov, Smilovice, Velky Depot and Širočiny the southwest, Židova Strouha, Jarošovice and Netěchovice in the west and Nuzice and Hodonice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the castle belonging to Dobronice village was 1293rd In 1510 the Lord of the deposit rule Tyn nad Vltavou bought Jan Čabelický of Soutice, the Good Březnice with the associated village Komarov. For the first time, a fortress was mentioned. In the 17th century the fortress was extinguished and the village was connected to the rule Bechyně. In 1840, which lies along the road to the village Sobieslau Breznitz from 38 houses consisted of 288 residents. In the village there was a stately Grange. Vicarage Sudoměřitz .. Until the mid-19th century Breznitz remained subservient always Bechyně.

After the abolition of patrimonial Březnice formed with the hamlets Čenkov and Jamník a municipality in the district team Milevsko / Mulhouse and the jurisdiction Bechyně. Čenkov broke up in 1923 going on and formed its own community. During the German occupation of the town from 1939 to 1945 was the German name Bschesnitz. In 1948 Březnice was after the lifting of Okres Milevsko assigned to the Okres Tyn nad Vltavou. After the dissolution of the village came to the end of 1960 Okres Tábor. On November 26, 1971 Čenkov u Bechyně and Záhoří were incorporated. At the beginning of 1975 were still Hodětín ( with Blatec, Nová Ves, Jamník I) and Hodonice added as districts. After referendums all districts dissolved November 24 again in 1990 Březnice going on and formed their own communities.
