Børge Brende

Børge Brende ( born September 25, 1965 in Odda, Hordaland ) is a Norwegian politician ( Høyre ) and since October 2013, Foreign Minister of Norway in the cabinet of Erna Solberg. He is therefore also responsible for development cooperation, while climate protection measures and the relationship with the EU other areas of responsibility assigned.

He is a member of the Norwegian Parliament ( Constituency Sør -Trøndelag ) since 1997 and was also vice chairman of the European Movement in Norway ( 1991-92 ). He was environment minister in the cabinet of Kjell Magne Bondevik von 2001 to 2004. From 2004 to 2005 he was economic and trade ministers. Since 2008, he worked as Managing Director of the Geneva World Economic Forum.
