Brian Clark (writer)

Brian Clark ( born June 2, 1932 in Bristol ) is an English playwright and screenwriter.

Biography

Clark was born the son of a blacksmith. He was trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London and then at the University of Nottingham. For eight years he worked as a teacher in schools, then he was from 1968 to 1972 lecturer in drama at the University of Hull.

In 1970 he wrote the teleplay Whose Life Is It Anyway?, Which he adapted seven years after the television production as a stage play. The revised version won the 1978 Society of West End Theatre Award. A little later he brought the game in the United States out, first in the theater of the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC His Broadway debut came into being the following year. The piece he adapted then even for a movie that was released in 1981.

Clark has written over 20 television screenplays including Easy Go, Operation Magic Carpet, The Saturday Party, The Country Party and Telford Change.
