Brian May (composer)

Brian May ( born July 28, 1934 in Adelaide, † April 25, 1997 in Melbourne) was an Australian composer of film music.

Life

In Adelaide Elder Conservatorium he received training as a pianist, violinist and conductor, before he founded the ABC Adelaide Big Band and conducted, which later became ABC Melbourne Show Band followed. These bands played music for television shows and series such as Bellbird, Return to Eden, The Last Frontier, A Dangerous Life and Darling of the Gods, while the music was this taken earlier of records. After he had reached with the theme song arranged by him for Rush the top of the Australian charts, he turned in 1984 reinforced the music for and left ABC. In April 1997, he died of heart failure. In his will, he decreed the establishment of the Brian May Scholarship, a foundation that enables aspiring film composers from Australia, for nine months to attend the University of Southern California.

Awards

For Mad Max May was awarded the Australian Film Award for the best score. Among many other awards, he also received the Golden Award of the Australian Performing Rights Association.
