Brian Minto

Brian Matthew Minto ( called The Beast, born January 27, 1975 in Butler, Pennsylvania) is an American boxer.

Minto earned his first professional fight on 27 November 2002 at the age of 27 years already. In his first fight against a well-known opponents, the already 46 -year-old Tony Tubbs in the mid- 1980s for a short time world champion of the WBA, he lost in December 2004 by split decision.

In 2006 he was elected Axel Schulz as opponent for his comeback fight after seven years of abstinence ring. Minto won on November 25, 2006 by a technical knockout in the sixth round, thus ending the sporty controversial comeback attempt by the Germans.

On March 17, 2007 Minto punched in Stuttgart against Luan Krasniqi. After an unclean, but action and exciting fight he went into the twelfth round to the ground and was down for the count, but came up again and then lost the fight on points.

After he won the next six bouts, he fought on 14 August 2009 against the undefeated Donnell Holmes for the vacant heavyweight title of the North American Association of NABO. This fight had to be stopped after the fourth round, as Minto, had suffered as a result of an accidental headbutt, a Cutverletzung over the left eye. Minto was forward at this time with all three judges and thus won the fight.

On December 5, 2009 Brian Minto fought in Atlantic City against Chris Arreola, who suffered his first defeat previously against Vitali Klitschko. Minto went in the first half of the fourth round to the ground and was down for the count. Shortly before the end of the fourth round Minto went for the second time to the ground. This time the referee stopped the fight, since Minto was unable to continue fighting.

Minto decided to change the weight class and in the future to compete in the cruiserweight division. He hoped for an opposition that he has less weight and size disadvantages than in the heavyweight division. Despite the defeat against Arreola Minto received 1 May 2010 his first world title chance in his first fight in the new weight class. Opponent in the battle for the cruiserweight world championship after the WBO version was the German defending champion Marco Huck. Minto lost the fight prematurely. After just one more fight in the cruiserweight division and a longer inactivity Minto in 2012 decided to compete in the heavyweight division again. However, he lost his comeback in the heavyweight January 28, 2012, compared to U.S. americans Tony Grano in the third round by knockout.
