Brian Mullooly

Brian Mullooly (Irish Brian Ó Maoluala, born February 21, 1935 in Strokestown, County Roscommon ) is a former politician of the Fianna Fáil.

Biography

Mullooly worked after school at Summerhill College in Sligo and studying at St. Patrick's Teacher Training College in Dublin as a teacher.

In 1981 he was a candidate of the Irish Labour Party for the first time a member of the Senate ( Seanad Éireann ) is selected, but resigned in 1982 when the Fianna Fáil. Then he represented in the Senate until 2002, the interests of the workers, known as Labor Panel. From 19 July 1995 to September 16, Vice- President of the Senate ( Leas - Chathaoirleach ) and was in this capacity from 12 November to November 27, 1996 Office of the President of the Senate.

On September 17, 1997, he was finally Cathaoirleach and therefore President of the Senate. This office he held until September 12, 2002, was also on 19 November 1997 Chairman of the Senate Committee on Members Interests ( Seanad Select Members Interests Committee).
