Brian Ó Domhnaill

Brian Ó Domhnaill ( born October 18, 1977 County Donegal) is an Irish politician ( Fianna Fáil ) and Seanad Éireann since 2007 in the Senator.

Ó Domhnaill attended St. Finian's National School in Falcarragh and also located in Falcarragh Pobal Scoil Cloich Cheann Fhaola. After finishing school he studied at the University of Ulster, where he received a Bachelor of Science with honors (B.Sc. hons ).

In December 1999 Ó Domhnaill was first elected to the Directorate of Udaras na Gaeltachta, the managing authority of the Gaeltacht. In April 2005, was his re-election. He also was a member of Donegal County Council since 2004.

In August 2007, he was nominated by the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern to Seanad Éireann in the Senator. In November 2010 he was a candidate in the by-election in the constituency of Donegal South West for a seat in Dáil Éireann, but lost Pearse Doherty of Sinn Féin.

Family

After Ó Domhnaills departure from the Donegal County Council as part of its nomination for senator, ran his brother Seamus Ó Domhnaill in the by-election for the renewal of the now vacant seat, subject, however, and in 2009 was until the next regular election of the County Council as an independent candidate elected. Seamus Ó Domhnaill In November 2010, joined the Fianna Fáil what some led back to the candidacy of his brother in the by-election in the constituency of Donegal South West. Seamus Ó Domhnaill himself denied such a relationship.
