Brighton is a city in the U.S. state of Colorado, United States. It lies partly in Weld County and partly in Adams County and is the County Seat.
Brighton is run as a Home Rule Municipality. According to the U.S. Census of 2010 Brighton had 33,352 inhabitants.
Geography
The city has an area of 44.3 km ², of which 44.2 km ² on land. Approximately 0.1 km ² ( = 0:29 %) are water.

History
The place that was named after the British city of Brighton, was charged on September 1, 1887 to the city. Since 1884, when a station along the Front Range extending railway line was established here, the place was a center of trade in the region. With the establishment of a dairy in the same year, the industrial development of Brighton began. From the early 1900s until the 1970s, the production of sugar was a major industry of the city.
Demography
At the time of the census of 2000, there were 20,905 people, the city. The population density was 473 persons per km ². There were 6990 housing units at an average 472.6 per km ². The population of Brighton consisted 76.91 % White, 0.99 % African American, 1.47% Native American, 1.10% Asian, 0.04 % Pacific Islander, 16.29 % reported other races, and 3.20 % from two or more races. 38.22 % of the population to be Hispanic or Latino of any race.
The residents of Brighton distributed to 6718 households out of which 40.2% were living in children under 18 years. 58.6 % married couples living together, 11.9 % had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.7% were non-families. 19.7% of households were made up of individuals and someone lived in 8.5 % of all households aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.92 and the average family size is 3.34 people.
The city population was spread out with 28.6 % under the, 10.1% of 18-24 year olds, 32.7 % 25 -44- year-old, 18.8% 45-64 year olds and 9.7 % under the age of 65 years or more. The average age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 108.0 males. In the over -18s accounted for 100 women 108.3 males.
The median household income in Brighton was 46 779 U.S. dollars, and the median family income reached the level of 53 286 U.S. dollars. The average income of men was 35 686 U.S. dollars, compared to 27 103 U.S. dollars for women.
