Brione ( Verzasca)

Brione ( Verzasca) is a municipality in the Valle Verzasca ( Verzasca Valley ) in the circle Verzasca. It belongs to the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

Geography

Brione lies at the point where the Verzasca Valley coincides with the dehydrated from the Osura Osolatal. In the village church are valuable frescoes in Giotto style from the year 1350. Brione is also the starting point for most beautiful excursions. To the east of the village lies the Poncione d' Alnasca (2300 m above sea level. M) whose vertical 600 -meter-high wall was first conquered in 1973.
